Bio: Hmmm.... Not sure what to write here. Don't want to spoil the mystique... Started an anonmyous blog when I turned 60 as a cheaper alternative to psychotherapy. So far it's working out! None of us will be getting out of this alive so we might as well share the wisdom and laughs on the journey! My new tagline is "If you don't laugh at it, what's the alternative?"
I’ve nominated you for a Liebster Award!

Hoppin’ horny toads! I’m sorry I’m so clueless… I don’t know what a Liebster Award is, but I’m sure once I find out, I’m going to be incredibly flattered TR! Thank you for the amazing compliment! Going to check out the links right now…

It’s a german word that has a bunch of meanings, but it’s mainly an award given to awesome “newer” (meaning a smaller following) bloggers — but everyone goes by different “rules”. I’m so excited you’re excited! (Most people don’t even notice when I nominate them for something, haha.)

So I read your nominations and answers and questions! I really don’t know what to say… I can’t even tell you how special this is to me! Golly – you’re are a REAL writer. I’m a make believe writer. Like many of my generation, I fully intend to follow “the rules” (like The Pirate Code, actually more like guidelines…) But as often happens, life is crazy now with life “stuff” – I’m actually struggling to get my weekly post done. See – make believe writer! Lots of time out of town doing fun, but all time consuming stuff, so I may not get to it until early September. But I WILL do it! Thank you again Tempest Rose!

Take your time! Believe me, these things can get pretty overwhelming.
And I’m still just a make-believe writer, too. I just like to tell people I’m a writer so I don’t have to engage in the awkward “So what do YOU do?” conversation. =]
I sometimes wish I could will myself to get out of town and have some fun, but on the rare occasion it actually happens, I find myself getting increasingly depressed if I don’t have a few hours every day to sit at my computer and write/comment/read.

The only thing that helped me when I turned 65 was the person who told me thing to worry, that 65 is the new 64. What a relief.
So now I work with a dog who blogs. He says things on our blog I would never say. You’re right… It beats therapy and I get better comments.
Love your blog
Jill

Thanks Jill for stopping by and for you kind comment! I’ll have to stop on by and read you dog’s blog. I love it that that rhymes… I have a friend in St. Louis whose dog wrote a book! So much talent out there in the canine world.

Hey Elf! Sorry it’s taken my like months to answer… The comments on my About page tend to get lost in my web. Sorry! Thank you for stopping by and for the kind compliment of making you day way back in May! I promise to be more diligent monitoring comments on my About page

I started blogging when I gave up cigarettes a little bit over a year ago. That combined with menopause made me a perfect candidate for “the couch” but I decided to start blogging instead. As you anonymous, thinking nobody will want to know what I think anyway. So, you About-page made me laugh and I had to press “follow”. So, I will check you out 🙂

Hey there nonsmokingladybug! So sorry it’s taken me so long to respond! Clearly I am not good at responding to my About page comments… So glad I made you laugh! Hope you had a great summer and KUDOS for giving up smoking and starting to blog. Blogging is way healthier (most of the time…) 🙂
Thanks for the follow!

It’s funny… I had the blog name before there was ever a blog! It was just one of those “This is a great name for a blog about aging. Maybe I should start a blog.” sort of things! Thanks for stopping by and spending some time with me!

So I wrote the below before I clicked onto your post and saw that I DID reply directly on your pst. Hey – I’m old… 😉 I though I’d just leave my self-flagellating reply so you can see how seriously I take honors bestowed on AGMA from other writers…
OMG AWOG… For some reason I did not see this until now! I am sooooo sorry for not acknowledging your incredibly flattering gesture earlier. In my mind, there is no honor greater than one writer giving such a wonderful shout out to another writer. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
And please forgive me for not getting back to you sooner! I feel like a heel…

How incredibly flattering!! Thank you so much! You really warmed my heart when I read your post and beside AGMA you said “Makes me laugh” The best praise indeed for my little donkey and me! Thank you so very much!
I have to tell you that I am not good at following the instructions on these awards. For whatever reason – I’m still trying to figure it out – life is hectic and my writing time is pretty limited. I’m actually lucky I get my one-post-a-week posted! So if I don’t get anything posted about the award, please don’t think that I am not grateful and appreciative – I am VERY appreciative and flattered that I was one of your “top 15”! I’m just…scattered!
Thank you, thank you, thank you again, and keep on writing!

My kind of blogger. Fun to read and love your writing style. Glad I accidentally found you on a list of likes from someone else’s blog. I’ll keep following.

Thanks Kathy! That’s how I’ve found a number of blogs I follow – from other bloggers I like lists of likes. Did that make sense! My high school English teachers are probably turning in their graves over my writing style in my blog, but who cares. I figure I’m old enough to write how I want and say what I want! Oh – I hope you’re not an English teacher or former English teacher… Thanks for the follow!

No, not an english teacher and at a loss myself on proper english. Just know what I enjoy reading. Looking forward to reading thru your blog and following. 🙂

It’s not every day I come across a blog written by a 60-year-old ass…I mean…donkey! If you wanted this blog to be anonymous, you shouldn’t have put your picture at the top (I’m good with donkeys’ faces).

Oh gosh magarisa…. I’m really lame when it comes to responding to my About comments. Sorry it’s taken me 3+ months. But you know what they say….ahhh….something about good things come to those who wait or something like that. And I fully realize that with the donkey/ass facial recognition software out there, it’s only a matter of time before I’m busted! 🙂

No worries, I wasn’t holding my breath for 3+ months. I just took a look at the comment you’re responding to, and saw that I’d left it during my very first month of blogging! The good ol’ days…
Yes, you better watch out for that ass recognition software! 😀

Yes – don’t wait over 3 months to answer people’s kind comments on your About page! Yikes – sorry! So since it’s taken me so long to answer, you’re not new to the blogging thing anymore. How’s it’s going?

Thanks!! And thanks for laughing! Tis sweet music to my ears… I was busy for the first 59.9 years doing nothing in particular, but I’m here now! Stop by again for a cuppa and a chuckle. (Don’t you think chuckle is a vastly underutilized word?? I’m going to start using it more!) Thanks again!

It’s really eerie – I read one of your blog posts and the way you write is so similar mine. Chuckling, crap on a cracker and whaday (of course my version is whaddaya) Even wanting to take ForkIn out for a Margarita – sooooo AGMA! I take mine with on the rocks, no salt. You?
Of course our lives are not even remotely the same – I have no crafty talents or artistic ability at all, I’m not musical, I think marriage is really, really hard work, and I don’t nearly have my &hit together like you do.
But other than that, we are virtually the same person…

Isn’t it great when we reach a certain age we no longer care what people think? It’s flipping liberating. Question, why is it so damn hard to comment on a select post? I don’t have time to be scrolling all the way to the bottom of the page…I may sprain my finger! I’m really happy I stumbled across your blog. It’s nice to see blogging isn’t just for the kids.
