2020

A_long_time_ago-578x299

...there was an AGMA who used to blog once a week.

And then 2020 happened.

And then the pandemic happened.

And then we decided to sell our house.

And then we had to get it ready to show.

And then we had to buy a lot of masks.

And then we had to keep the house clean ALL THE TIME.

And then we had the stress of negotiating a contract.

And then we had to put a new roof on.

And then we had to find movers.

And then we had to find a place to store our furniture.

And then we had to find a furnished, 4 month rental in Chicago.

And then we had to find a furnished, short term rental in Atlanta until our furnished 4 month rental in Chicago was available.

And then we decided to do our own packing.

And then we had to sort through every box, closet, cabinet and drawer to decide what to put into storage, what to take to Chicago, what to throw out and what to donate.

And then we had to pack everything in boxes.

And then I had to get crowns get put on two teeth (ugh!)

And then we had to buy a “new” used car as a NanaMobile in Chicago.

And then there was George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Rayshard Brooks, and more.  So many more.

And then there was still a pandemic.

(AGMA will return to regular posting soon!  I miss you all!!)

  1. I’ve been wondering where you’ve been, AGMA. You are moving to Sweet Home Chicago where I spent the first 39 years of my life (now in Seattle). I am happy for you and hubs that you will be closer to “the grands.”
If you go out for Italian Beef (as someone mentioned above), Johnnie’s Beef on North Ave. in Elmwood Park is great! I just checked on Internet. I am amazed it is still open! AndFrank Lloyd Wright’s Home & Studio in Oak Park is not far from there. I used to volunteer at FLW home/studio. Bunch of FLW homes in Oak Park — many near his home & studio. Plus Hemingway’s birthplace is in Oak Park. Buona fortuna to you and Hubs!

  2. I was so glad to find this post AGMA. I was beginning to worry about you. Glad you are well and geez, doesn’t sound like your life is any quieter than it ever has been, lol. Good luck getting settled and best wishes as always.
